Activities & Snacks

Activities:

  • Compare “large” and “little” objects!
  • Find pictures of objects that begin with the /l/ sound with a light.
  • Glue cotton balls onto a lamb made of construction paper. Practice the /l/ sound each time a cotton ball is placed on the lamb
  • Go fishing for ‘L’s in a pretend lake!
  • Leap over paper lily pads with the letter ‘l’ or pictures of objects that begin with the /l/ sound on the lily pads!
  • Make “lips” out of red paper and add lima beans for teeth!
  • Make a book! Write “I love ____” at the bottom of each page.  Let the child draw pictures of their favorite things on each page and fill in the blank.
  • Make ladybugs (add some ‘l’ vocabulary words under the wings).
  • Make lighting bugs! Name lighting bugs with ‘l’ names and place them in jars under lids!
  • Make lions! Add long and short pieces of yarn for a mane.
  • Play “Follow the Leader”
  • Sing “Five Little Speckled Frogs”
  • Squeeze lemons and make lemonade with a long spoon!
  • Use a toy lawn mower to mow over green ‘l’ letters!
  • Write a letter to a loved one
  • Go on a walk and look for ladybugs
