Activities & Snacks

Activities:

  • Color a Cheetah!  Add Cheetos for spots!
  • Drive a toy train (choo choo) though chocolate pudding and trace the letters ‘ch’
  • Make a “Choo Choo” train.  Let each child design a shoe box for the “Choo Choo” train.
  • Make a choo choo train out of children! Let pairs of students hold the letters ‘c’ and ‘h’ to represent cars on the train.
  • Make a paper chain
  • Make chocolate chip cookies!
  • Make sidewalk drawings with chalk
  • Make the letters ‘ch’ with checkers!
  • Make the letters ‘ch’ with Cheerios
  • Place chocolate pudding in a plastic bag.  Draw pictures or trace the letters ‘ch’ on the bag.
  • Play checkers, chess or Chinese checkers!
  • Play musical chairs!
  • Play the Hi Ho Cheery-O game
  • Read the book Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.  Then, make a large construction paper coconut tree.  Let students add pictures of objects that begin with the /ch/ sound to the tree.

  • Make a Chicka Chicka Boom Boom tree!  Use a large pretzel as the trunk.  Attach chocolate chips (as coconuts) with cream cheese.  Arrange apple slices as leaves above the pretzel.
  • Use squirt cheese to make the letters ‘ch’ on crackers!
